Description
Occidental Brewing Co. was founded in 2011 by Ben and Dan Engler with the goal of making well-balanced continental-style beers in the land of IPAs: Portland, Oregon. Finding a niche with beer drinkers who had grown tired of the hops arms race, we quickly grew (but not too much) with our lineup of approachable, sessionable, and award-winning ales and lagers. We began canning our core beers in 2013 and now bottle multiple seasonal offerings as well. Over the years we expanded our distribution from our Portland brewery to much of Oregon, Western Washington, Nevada, Idaho, and the occasional shipment to Japan. Look for Occidental beer in your local supermarket, bottle shop, bar or restaurant. Prost!

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold-yellow with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Aroma of grainy pale malt, biscuit, lemon rind and yeast. Sweet flavour of grainy malt, lemon and earthy yeast with a dry, crisp, bitter grass finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and easy drinking.

473ml can. (4.7% ABV) Pours a cloudy pale gold-yellow with a medium, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of grainy wheat malt, clove, yeast and mild banana. Sweet flavour of grainy wheat malt, yeast, clove, lemon and mild banana with a crisp, dry, floral hop finish. Light to medium body with a smooth, oily texture and average carbonation. A refreshing, easy drinking Hef.

Can - Pink grapefruit juice. Cloudy gold orange with a decent beige head. Sweet, light peachy notes and lots of grapefruit. A bit sweet and the thick body doesn't help with the light nature of the style. A bit off the mark.
