Description

I wouldn’t call it a quad - Its more of an Imperial xmas ale. That might be causing some of the bad reviews, but it is not a bad beer. Features a low white head an appealing reddy brown coloured body. The nose leads with cloves and nutmeg with biscuit malt and brown sugar. Spices and herbs pop first in the taste profile. Cloves, coriander, nutmeg and rosemary are all there. Dark berries, raisins and caramel help balance the spices. It has mid-range carbonation and a rich, smooth mouth feel. Merry Christmas!

Frothy, dense off white head on a caramel coloured body. A big caramel malt and fruity hop nose. Peppery hops with citrus and tropical notes are up front with a distinct soapiness, chewy caramel malts and cereal. Slightly astringent finish but in reasonable balance with the sweet malts.

500ml bottle. Clear copper pour with a medium white head. Very sweet, bready, some alcohol, and lots of resinous pine. Good body, soft carb. Very sweet caramel malty finish. Loads of grains in here, wet paper, and some subtle apples. Medium bitterness, not enough hops to battle the malts.

Hops were disappointing, muted and grassy, citrus notes are just not there. Malts and musty, and slightly tart. This must have been an old bottle.

Hazy yellow, small white head. Crisp wheat aroma with some light citrus zest, and some floral grasses and herbs. Hints if mint, maybe some lime. Mouth feel thin, carb is good. The finish is clean, and crisp. Good wheat flavours, solid coriander and some more mint. Low bitterness, dry finish.

500ml bottle from chez gibb in rouyn Noranda. Light copper pour, with a medium white head. incredibly complex aroma, peaches, grapefruit zest, lemon, tangerine, pear and pineapple. The body and carb are spot on for the style. The finish is quite malty, good cereals and some more solid citrus notes. Very well balanced and lovely beer.

Murky, gross-looking orange-pink colour with a bunch of chunks running through it. The head is pinkish, creamy, very long lasting and leaving lots of sticky lacing. Sour, tarty, fruity aromas with the raspberries. The taste shows the same with the sourness lingering for a bit. Not too thick for mouthfeel, and quite refreshing. A nice raspberry smoothie sour brew.

Golden colour with an orange hue. Tiny, transparent particles floating around creating a little haziness. The head is light-beige, big, frothy, somewhat creamy with very good retention and leaving some creamy lacing. Soft aromas of oats with mild orange notes and floral hints. The mouthfeel is creamy with the head, then wet to hit a drying end. Citrus peel flavours, mildly lingering. It is like a lighter West Coast style with a touch of oats, but nothing to create an East Coast IPA. Goes down well.
