Dunkertons history reaches back to 1980 when Ivor and Susie Dunkerton made the decision to escape London and buy a small holding in Pembridge, Herefordshire. They realised that with such a small amount of land they needed to specialise in some form of agriculture and spotted that traditional cider making presented a fantastic opportunity.
In 2014 Ivor and Susie passed Dunkertons to their son Julian and his business partner Bean.
In 2016 the production business relocated to our new state of the art cidery at Dowdeswell Park, Cheltenham.

Wild festival. Clear pale golden. Woody and dry apple with some barn funk. Very dry and crispy. Pretty fly for a UK guy. Medium body with soft fizzy carbonation.

750ml bottle from Ciderwinkel. Sparkling golden colour, foamy white head that dissipates away and aroma of mucky funk, apple. Taste is tangy apple, fruity, some tartness, juicy, sweetish, with funky notes, a caramel hint and earthy tannins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Handpull at the Volunteer, Ventnor. Orange/gold and still, still, still. Appleskin tartness to the aroma with a sharp woody and almost meaty smell. Gorgeous sweet/sour taste but the woodiness is too much and takes over the flavour. There's a hell of a lot going on here at 5% but the problems outweigh the virtues for me.

66cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - a bit of a gusher initially. Steady carbonation. Nose - light funk and red apple. Taste - more red apple and again a slight edge of funk. Palate - close to medium bodied with a sweet and tangy middle. Long tangy finish. Overall - good stuff.
