Description
It was in 1973 that the adventure of the "Au Baron" brewery began. Alain Bailleux then purchased the last bistro in the village there. There he meets Danielle who will become his wife. Together, they embark on small catering. Later, Alain and his father, retired master brewer, challenge each other; create a craft brewery. This will be done on June 8, 1989 when Gussignies inaugurated the village brewery with Saint-Médard, a beer inspired by the farm-breweries of yesteryear. For a few years now, Florence and Xavier have taken over the reins of the family business and continue to make the Baron prosper by adding a local store where you can buy beers and products from local producers.

Nothing special. Carbonated and light bodied with malty, almost syrupy sweetness.

Bière dégustée en bouteille chez un ami. Robe jaune trouble (hazy), mousse blanc cassé assez fine.

(Bottle) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, spicy nose with white bread, citrus, banana and clove. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of white bread, citrus, banana, clove and a gentle floral/herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Soft, well balanced and tasty. Very nice.

Formerly called Noblesse Oblige and originally brewed with Jester King, this is even better than I remember. A real classic. I thought of it as an extra hoppy Biere de Garde of sorts, but a farmhouse IPA works. Dry, grassy, top.

Bottle @ gunnfryd. Unclear Golden body under a big, frothy white head. Aroma is white sugary with a spicy touch and light pale malt. Taste is sweet and sugary as well, spicy yeast, flowers and hint of esters. Well balanced alcohol level. Quite nice, classic triple without anything extraordinary.
