Description
Founded in December 2009 by beer lovers trying to make work fun again, Clown Shoes has been redefining what craft beer should be. We strive to add our own little creative twists on under-represented styles and styles in need of change.

In late 2017, Clown Shoes joined Mass. Bay Brewing Company, makers of Harpoon and UFO. With the greater resources and capabilities, we have expanded our special release and barrel aging programs with over 25 one-off beers in 2018 alone. Clown Shoes continues to grow and innovate, while keeping our own personality and style to bring you interesting and unique beers.

Meine Version hat 10,5%. In der Nase Schokolade, im Trunk sehr alkoholisch, Lakritz, JΓ€germeister, dann Schoko, Espresso. Mir leider etwas zu unrund.

16 oz. can from The Mansion. Pours a black motor oil color with a large dark tan head and excellent retention. A little nitro-like action too. Only minor spots of lacing. Dark roasted aroma. Very dark roasted malt flavor, bordering on burnt, with a little licorice flavor, and a dark bitter finish and some booze. No smoky flavor, as advertised. Strong but semi-smooth. Somewhat typical imperial stout with more alcohol than beer flavor. Kinda disappointing. Medium-heavy body. Very low carbonation. Medium bitterness.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a syrupy thick, opaque black with a small, beige head. Maple dominates the nose, then Bourbon, then roast. Medium body only, slight tartness, some licorice and then again maple. The Bourbon notes are fairly muted. Dry and not overly boozy with good drinkability considering its strength. 200423
