The Church Street Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Itasca – a western suburb of Chicago. We love what we do! We brew traditional and unpretentious lagers and ales that represent the old and new beer styles of European influence. A family business built on a dream to make quality beer for our loyal clientele. Although we have won several awards, our real passion is to serve our patrons with consistently good-tasting craft beer. We serve locally, nationally and internationally. Sample at the taproom. Clear orange-bronze color with a medium frothy white head that diminishes slowly to a film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of hops, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, fruity yeast and grainy malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short fruit and hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the taproom. Clear pale copper color with a thin ivory white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of fruit, mild hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity hops, pine and grainy malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short piney hop aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

This pours a nice, ruddy Irish Red color, with a foamy head. It's a little cloudy, looks like it's been bottle-conditioned with a little yeast. The smell is malty with a light roast, a little in the way of an English Brown Ale. There is a bit of yeast on the palate, then the caramel notes of those toasty malts. "English" hops have usually meant "Earthy" to me, and this does have a slight note of peat, but still some Noble hop bitterness. The 5.5% alcohol stays nicely out of the way. It's a hearty beer that would stand up to grilled or roasted beef or pork.

Draft at Bella. Light golden, bright, small cap of head lasts. Pretty damn close to a tripel. Belgian yeast figures prominently in the aroma and taste. Butter, grains, clove, floral. Smooth, nice feel. Nice.
