Description
Owner Kyle Funk and his brother-in-law Jon Norman (Norm) are partners in Funk Brewing Co. which began brewing in 2014. Wether it’s Nirvana, Apple, or Funk, all great things start in a garage. Both Norm and Kyle started brewing in their garages with a turkey fryer and Igloo cooler. Later, Kyle’s and his mechanical engineering background built a magnificent brew house from scratch in his garage.

With Kyle’s brewing ability and Norm’s business background it made sense to start a brewery. The duo went to the Colorado Boy Brewing Company brewery school in Ridgway CO. After being laughed out of a few banks they were finally given a loan and the keys to 19 South 6th Street in Emmaus.

Since 2014, Funk has grown to 2 taprooms (Emmaus and Elizabethtown) and a distribution footprint of 7 states in the Mid Atlantic.

Wouldn’t describe this as super. Unlike Monaco’s win vs Barcelona today.

My can is listed as 'let's give'em pumkin to talk about' this is probably the correct name for this but what ever. Pour is a brownish pale cloudy thang. Nose is a vegetable squash volatile olfactory. First taste is an odd veggie thing that has very little if any pumpkin spice in there. Most domestic pumpkin beers are so pumpkin spiced forward, this is not. Just wondering if there really is any pumpkin spice in there at all. BTW, I'm glad for the lack of pumpkin spices in this. Weird peculiar unique squashy alky flavor in this one. Strong yet does not insult. Definitely a unique beer for a pumpky. Yes, this is one of the few pumpkin beers where I can actually taste pumpkin; big thanks there funky. Decent CO2 in the middle. Good pumpkin flavors. Stronger yet never insulting. If you want a beer that actually tastes like pumpkin, here yah go. All my peers say pumpkin alone has no flavor and that's why you need heavy spices, but this stuff proves them wrong!

Can at Jaxx. Deep golden pour, wispy head recedes. Light vanilla aroma. Taste recalls Cookie Crisp cereal, sweet, light roast.
