Description
Les Trois Mousquetaires Microbrewery was founded in June of 2004, following the purchase of Express-Broue, a small brewery situated in St-Eustache. The three new owners had been coworkers at Imperial Tobacco, and shared the same ambition of becoming entrepreneurs following the closing of the factory. Because they all lived on the south shore of Montreal, they decided to move their operation to Brossard.

In the month of May 2011, the company moved a few doors down to Matte Boulevard in Brossard. Their new location was three times bigger to be able to meet the demands of their ever increasing clientele. Following this move, Les Trois Mousquetaires Microbrewery beer is available in over 500 locations around Quebec, and has begun exporting it’s beers to Ontario, the west of Canada, the United States, and Australia.

In 2014, the microbrewery celebrates its 10 years of success, and continues its expansion in Quebec, Canada, the United States, Europe, and Brazil.

750ml cork-and-cage bottle that pours a dark brown colour with a few ruby-copper highlights, a lighter mocha-coloured froth head, leaving some foamy-soapy lacing spots. Aromas of molasses, dates, prunes, a tad whisky alcohol, and hints of maple. A mildly oily mouthfeel with a touch of dryness. Not too thick, as a Baltique Porter should be, but maybe a little thicker. Again, lots of dark fruits in the flavours, some apples balancing things with the sweetness. A little coffee lingers, with that maple-whisky feel. Not a bad Whisky barrel-aged Baltic Porter, with a lot going on, and fairly balanced overall. Interesting to say the least.

Extra pumped for this one. Dullish hazy. Thin head. Smells unfresh and a quick check of the can confirms it - this is over a year old. Lol canbif. Not that i was going to like it anyway but how do you even evaluate that?

Dark brown. No head. The aroma has a somewhat rough barrel on it; the base still has a great aroma of soft dark fruit. On the palate, the raisins and dark fruits are amazing; the whisky is pretty strong, and up front. It's unsubtle. The base is still really good but not my favourite treatment on this.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is pretty rough, with a pretty low-quality whiskey barrel that dominates, toasted malts, and a hint of vanilla. Flavour has plenty of cola, low-quality whisky, a touch of vanilla, and some sugars. Good base, but those barrels ain’t good quality. Still decent but it’s pretty rough.

750mL bottle. Pours black with a small head. Cheap whiskey and toasted bread on the nose. Flavour has more of that cheap whiskey character, the toasted malt base is nice. Kinda tastes like a CC and coke. But better than that, some nice dark sugars and the barrels are well-integrated. It's not bad.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of chocolate notes with some nice bourbon notes with vanil and light residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of chocolate notes with some nice smooth bourbon notes and vanilla notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is full with an oily texture and good carbonation with some light discernible alcohol notes. Great barrel aged porter with excellent bourbon barrel notes.
