Bottle on 5th January 2025 from Brouwerij’t IJ, Amsterdam. Pours slightly hazy copper with short lived shallow, yellowy white foam and scant lacing. Malt and tangy citrus in aroma. Spicy maltiness and juicy citrus fruits in-mouth, with spicy bitterness and maltiness dominating the finish. Light to medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

I Draught /I Huge, dense, cream-tan head over black beer. Intense whisky notes, Bourbon, nuts, nutcake with vanilla and spirit. Smells a tad sweeter than the Antwerpener version. Whisky, nuts, some chocolate and serious stoutacidity. Coal, roast. Sweetness arrives early, then fades quickly. Alcoholthinning and some -burn, still rather full-bodied (and warming). Long lasting flavours. Differences are really small, but the Amsterdam version seems more severe, less complex.

I Draught /I Small tan rim over red-shot, almost black beer. Very dry whisky notes, Bourbon in the background. Nuts and ashes. Coal, roast, but with a surprisingly sweeter finish. Sweet spirit, Bourbon-like with a whiff of vanilla, whereas the onset is drier whisky. Earthy, incense. Faint alcoholthinning, seriously warming. Chewy, well-bodied. Although differences are minimal, somehow the Antwerpen-aged version seems more complex, the sweetness more integrated.

Bottle 0,33ltr: A brown strong alcohol brew from the IJ brewery. Very bitter beer not mine favorite from this brewery. And now 2011 i like this brew more hazy amber with an slightly sweet taste indeed, with an fine fruity hints.
