not quite what i expected. I suppose i thought this was going to taste sweet, with a little hop aroma, but mostly the overwhelming sweetness from the honey. theres really no indication of the honey except for a little flat taste on the middle tongue. not anything thats going to blow you away, pretty much middle of the road ale with no real distinctive character thats dissapointing because of the unusual ingrediants. another average one from paper city.

Big City Allston tulip ($5.25): The bartender poured it without a head, so I can’t comment on that aspect. The beer is a translucent red color. Sweet malty and cherryish aroma. Some Belgian notes are there, but not in full force. Tastes kind of sweet. The high alcohol is covered by the sugar I would assume. Mild hop presence and some bitterness throughout. Pretty fruity tasting. Good, but as others have said, far from great.

Sampled at Sunset Grill Allston. Pours a hazy yellow with some frothy white head. Fruity aroma, lightly sweet, light citrus. Flavor is malty, citrus, bread, a little sugar. Finish is medium bodied. Nothing wrong, per se, but completely forgettable.

on tap @ GIBF, one of the only ones here that I wanted to taste, nice ASA, should open up this brewery to the rest of the world more. Nice spice hop character and taste, not overbearing.

Pours bright hazy orange red into a trappist glass. Head quickly subsides to skim rim with medium-sized bubbles. Sweet cherry and apricot aromas. Dry with upfront pit fruits which turns to a slightly unpleasant bitter finish.

draft - Pours slightly cloudy and yellowish with a thin head. The aroma is mainly of yeast with a wheat flavor to match that also displays mild citrus notes. It has a too thin body and a slightly off aftertaste. I didn’t find it as sour as some other reviewers, but I’m not terribly impressed either. It’s average at best.
