Draft at the brew pub 1/09/2014. Clear golden color with thin lasting head. Aroma was light malt and vanilla and light funky yeast. Flavor was toasted honey, hints of grain and wheat. Finish was malty with light bitterness. Texture slightly thick, heavy carbonation giving lively mouthfeel. Overall spot on for a Helles

Draft at the source, 1/09/2014. Light amber color with lasting head retention. Aroma is a botanical garden, abundance of flowers nothing but a tom of flowers. Flavor is like drinking old ladys perfume with a very subdued hint of peat.only got the peat in the last half oz. Heather flower... A lot of heather flower. Not my thing.

Sample at the pub. Clear copper color. Aroma is light vanilla and hints of fruit. Oak influence is subtle with mostly vanilla in a moderate malty body. Toasted grains with a mild hint of alcohol in the finish. Not bad.

Bottle at the cabin in NH. Pours perfectly clear, penny copper with a large, lasting, slightly off-white head. The nose holds bread, caramel, grains, some unfermented wort, barley juice, light pine and leaves. Light to medium sweet with some dry bread, pine, off smokey notes, dry caramel, berries. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. A bit of dirty, earthy bitterness on the finish with more pine and leaves, dry bread, further off smoke notes, alcohol and more dry caramel. Mediocre, really.
