Courtesy of askofficerfriendly. Bomber pours deep darkness with mocha head. The aroma is . . . what is this! It pummels the senses with rich coconut, thick sweet nuttiness and chocolate as well as a sense of dry nut skins. The taste is similar with rich bold brash nuttiness, some chocolate going on in there too and coconut. It then rolls toward slightly sourness into the finish. If you want rich nuttiness look no further than this. Wow!

Pours a dark brown with ruby highlights and a tan head that sticks around for a while. Smells of roasted malts, cherries, nuts. Tastes of cherry, nuts, roasted grains, sugary syrup. Thick sweet body and mouthfeel. Ample carbonation. Interesting brew. I really enjoyed the novelty of the first few sips, but after a while the sweetness took over and made it less appealing.

Understated aroma of sweet caramel with a grassy hop accent. Clear copper, thin yellow head. Flavor is surprisingly varied with caramel, overripe orange, and nutmeg. Sweet at midpalate, but otherwise rather dry and bitter. Finishes with lingering and delightful peanut shells. Alcohol is very well concealed. Mouthfeel is powdery to the point of being a major distraction. Pretty nice.

Pour is an orange with a large white head. Aroma is nutmeg with a decent pumpkin. Flavor is the same lots of spice up front with a nice pumpkin rounding things out. This was a very tasty beer.

A red copper ale with a thin moka head. A sweetish caramel aroma, lightly funky, not bad. In mouth, an off interpretation of the style, with off notes, sweet unfermented wort, cloying. On tap at Great North Carolina Brewers Fest., August 28 2010.

courtesy of tpd975 ’07 bottle and wow, what a gem this beer was. pours dark brown, tan fizzy carbonation. Aroma was just pure hazelnut goodness, Chocolate roast and malts, but overall it is dominated by hazelnuts. Flavors, has this dry nutty characteristic, nutty is all over this beer and I think it picks up where many of the hazelnut Italian beers fall short. There is a nice subtle light chocolate and roast along with mild bitter nut finish. Really unique, I can see how some might think it is overly nutty, and sharing the bomber was a good idea. This beer is nutella on steroids without all the corn sweetener crap.

A gift from a friend from out of state. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange color with a huge beige head that lingered. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and citrus. Subtle but very pleasant. The flavor was sweet and very yeasty with notes of tart citrus, caramel and faint touches of nutmeg and cinnamon. Medium finish and medium body. The spicing was far more subtle than in most pumpkin spice beers and it worked much better. Very good.
