Description
Timmermans has kept the tradition of the true lambic alive for over 300 years now. This unique beer, made with 30% wheat, is brewed in Itterbeek, in the oldest active lambic brewery. At its origin is a miracle: micro-organisms in the air of the Senne valley end up in the wort and cause spontaneous fermentation. This is why a true lambic is brewed only within a 15 km radius of Brussels, in the area known as Pajottenland. Since 1993, Martin’s Finest Beer Selection has been proud to preserve this authentic part of Belgium’s beer heritage.

White quite unregular head. Amber transparant body, does not sticks to the glass. Sour aroma, little bit fruity. The flavour starts sweet-soury and goes to a sour flavour. Very fruity aftertaste. (peach)

Pale golden colour, white head. I think I just opened a can of peaches instead of a bottle of beer. After tasting the beer, I must reconsider, they mixed the juice from that can with my beer . First time and last time.

The aroma is very fruity with some sharp notes. The color is a slightly hazy orange. The flavor is sweet fruity with notes of fresh apples.

Aroma light wooden & soapy (in a pleasant way). Nice orange amber, no head though, pearling carbonation. Flavors hard to make out, sweetness, a bit oak. Pretty lightfooted. Light flowery lactic aftertaste.

Clear golden color, medium head. Aroma of artificial peach. Taste is indeed a bit yoghurt like, sweet sour and sharp taste, and ofcourse peach. Pretty sharp metallic palate.

Hazy yellow color, short head. Aroma is spicy and a bit sharp sour, lactic acid could be a good description. Taste is belgian white, but also a sweet and sour like some gueuzes. I like belgian whites, i appreciate gueuzes, but it doesn't work synergistic for me.

Beautiful ruby color, almost no head. Sour cherry aroma; light vinegar. Dry; a light maltiness and residual sweetness in the background; pleasant cherry and cherry kernels. Drinkable, but the cherries are a bit too much artificial (cherry syrup).

The aroma is slightly sweet, but mostly sour. The color is an unclear dark yellow, and it has a fine head. The flavor is dry, woody, and slightly sour. The flavor is somewhat weird. Definatly not the best geueze I've had.

(Sample quite aged). Orange-amber; head immediately gone. Yeast has fixed itself at the underside of the bottle (no V-pattern), but pieces have come loose and drift to the bottom of the glass. In the nose, cork, earth, 'horseblanket' and caramel malt vie for domination. In the glass, the cork-mouldiness is gone, and replaced by a lemon, squashed under a horsesaddle. Again some cork and earthy-notes in the taste. Acidity (lemon + buttermilk) surrounds everything without really settling and imposing itself. There is a weird presence of malt (anathema to gueuze, and an aged one at that - points towards top-fermenting addition), and some sulphur, even something chloridic. Mouthfeel is empty for a gueuze. A seriously aged ale can get in this direction, but not a gueuze. Tart all the same. Aftertaste is tartness AND sticky. Some oddball! An ale ought not to taste like gueuze. And a gueuze not like an ale. This is the result of mixing them. It doesn't convince.

Pale straw colour, no head. Nose of chaff, grain, lactic. Taste: this is pure wort. Virtually no acidity. Not bad in se, but totally unacceptable for this type. There's just some lemon-flavour retronasal. the aftertaste is much better than the rest - thank God. Medium-bodied, yes. Substandard for lambic.
