Draught at the brewpub. Lightly hazy golden, small head. Dryish yet fruity. Medium bodied with rounded grainy malt. Some unusual strawberry esters seem to stay just on the perception horizon. Finishes lightly minerally with salty bitterness.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy yellow, minimal head. Mostly grainy and very carefully hopped. Fairly sweet with crisp mouthfeel formed by grainy husky malt. Finishes with low bitterness. Well made, but way underhopped for the style.

Draught at the brewpub. Very dark brown, small beige head. Light coffee aroma. Rather dry with light-medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. A whiff of chocolate and coffee. Pleasantly dry and very drinkable dark lager.

Malty with light hops. I kept hoping for a crisp finish but it was too smooth for its own good. It’s a nice pilsener, but nothing amazing.

Dark brown brew. Chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, slightly sour aroma. Similar flavor with a touch of smoked ham at the finidh. This is a good, easy drinking schwarz. Their best brew.

Bottle, July 2007. ☆☆☆/☆ Organic weizen, unpasteurized and unfiltered. Very cloudy golden yellow with a tall white fine head. Rich malt aroma with banana and clove. Slightly sweet with a decent dryness as well. Smooth malty flavor, strong barley flavor in there as well. Bananas and cloves, spices, wheat and banana finish. Very dry finish, with a bit more hops than usual. Very good, with good balance, but a little lighter in flavor than the best. A bit thin.

Bottle, July 2007. This is an organic beer that claims to be a copy of the original Czech pilsner style. It is a dark gold color with a tall, thick, white head. It has a very rich malt aroma, with a good bit of sweetness, and hops. Very appealing aroma, like Pilsner Urquell more than anything else. Very rich malt flavor, rather heavy body for the type. It is very biscuity and malty, very rich and good. It has just a touch of sweetness, with very good hopping. It is very substantial and bready. It ends with a very nice hop finish, bitter but not overwhelmingly so, that last a long time. This is really an excellent pils. By far the best bottled Japanese pils I can remember drinking. It really is in the Bohemian tradition.

Bottle. Said to be 89% organic, a dark lager made in the Bohemian style. Very dark brown, almost black, with a tall tan head. Aroma of chocolate, a bit roasted, a little sweet but with a touch of sour as well. It has a nicely roasted flavor, is relatively sweet but not too much so. Flavors of chocolate, caramel. It is creamy and smooth with decent hops too. A roasted, semi-sweet finish, stout-like. Over all the sour touch gives it an excellent balance. An really well made beer.
