Description
Brasserie du Bocq was set up in 1858 by Martin Belot. The Brewery was incorporated into a limited company in 1949. Independent of any Belgian or foreign brewer, it still beholds its own family nature. Located in the heart of the Condroz, wonderful tourist region, this dynamic company still uses the traditional manufacturing process of top-fermentation beers with secondary fermentation in the bottle.
In 1983, Brasserie du Bocq abandons the exploitation of Central Brasserie Marbaix -La-Tour, to bring all the beer production back to Purnode where the production tools have been radically modernized on the basis of equity. Today in Purnode, although the Belot family has sold its assets to the Keersmaekers family who has been producing the Corsendonk at the Brasserie du Bocq for over 30 years, and even though the brewery has far exceeded its regional framework, nothing has changed and the values of the company remain intact.

Unfortunately not good anymore. Perhaps 35 years old.

Surprised at the low rating overall. Had it on draught, in brussels. Poured a light gold with moderate head. Sweet and very refreshing, some fruits but not overpoweringly so. A lot more drinkable than many of its higher rated contemporary Tripels.
Earlier Rating: 4/15/2007 Total Score: 3.2
Bottle. Very yellowy. Lots of head. Hoppy and lemony. Not too bad. Little bitter and lots of CO2.

Pajiza clara, nebulosa y con enorme y bonita espuma blanca bastante densa y cremosa. Aroma agradable cítrico y con predominio de gengibre. En boca es ligera aunque punzante de gas. Sabor claramente cítrico, limón y claramente a jengibre. Seca y de amargor moderado. Refrescante aunque con exceso de gas.

Old rating from 16-09-15 - 330ml brought back from Belgium. Pours a clear golden colour with an off white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, citrus, spice & light malt. Taste is malt, sugars, spicy citrus in the background, smooth hops in the finish along with mild apple notes. Aftertaste is mild with lightly bitter finish.

Old rating from 26-08-15 - 330ml bottle, picked up on my recent road trip to Belgium. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white head. Aromas of orange and malt. Tastes of sweet spices, orange, yeast, with a slight bitter hop on the aftertaste. Feels of medium carbonation. Overall, I was surprised by how much I like this one
