Bottle, 375ml. An unclear brown beer with a finger thick beige head. The aroma is roasted and lightly burnt, with some earthy notes and a touch of dark dried fruit. It's full bodied and lightly warming, semi-sweet, with a decent carbonation. Roasted malts, some burnt malts and a good dash of dark dried fruit and alcohol. Some earthy hints. Lasting finish. Nice, but a bit straight forward. 221223

Brewed 29/8 2018, bottled 23/6 2020. Slight puff, near flat copper colour. Smells a bit sour, apple, rhubarb. Mouthfeel is flat and fairly light, with a good density. Taste is very subtle, some light sourness. Apple is real noticable, rhubarb a bit. Wood.

Bottle, 375 ml corked. A black one, topped by a small beige head. The aroma is smoked and burnt, quite vinous, with some charcoal and ham. Hints of chocolate too. It's rather low on carbonation, quite light on the palate and mostly on the dry side, with some alcohol warmth. The flavor is peat smoked, with burnt malts, hints of chocolate, ham, charcoal and alcohol. Lasting finish. A bit light bodied and low on carbonation this one, else it's a fine brew indeed. 221022

Dark brown beer with a reddish sheen; good dark yellow-cream head. Dry, dark sugar, liquorice, dark leaves, dry wood. Sweet-ish, yet a dry impression and ditto finish. Dark candi sugar, liquorice reappearing. Feels fuller than it is, just the finish giving away the true light body. Very well-carbonated, quite slick to sticky. Difficult beer to place, giving an impression as if not quite reaching the intended profile. Thanks to Stef!
