Poured from a 16 oz can dated March 11, 2024. Aroma is fairly malt forward with notes of bready grains, slightly toasted bread and hints of light caramel. A touch of a fruity, pear / red apple note. Faint floral hop notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a clear, brilliant gold colors it some orange hues on the edges and a medium sized, fairly thick, white head that recedes somewhat quickly to a small film that lingers on the edges. Medium high lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with medium light bready grain notes and hints of toasted bread and light caramel. Medium low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Medium light spicy, herbal hop notes that linger in the somewhat dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid lager. Good malt notes in the both the aroma and flavor. Hop notes are light in the aroma but more prevalent in the finish of the taste. Balanced bitterness and alcohol notes. Fairly crisp and dry, but still with some nice malt body.

Very hazy straw and light golden coloured body with a thinnish two centimetre tall off-white microfoamed head that tops the beer nicely, above the ninety per cent opaque glowing yellow body. Aroma of pure tangerines, slightly tart fruit, a lot of sugars with some honey and fructose and some alcohol noticeable in the nose, too. Full-bodied; Very rich and pretty astringent alcohol and bitter hops dominate with a lot of floral and especially grassy notes with a strong and pungent bite from the alcohol and some rich malts show at the very end without any respite. Aftertaste is deep, super pungent and astringent without much sweetness at all, but some citrus notes are here with a lot of hops coming through at the end - very deep and pungent, even with the malt, this has Imperial written all over it. Overall, a nice but very strong IPA that definitely shows a lot of Imperial notes, but especially with the malt richness and astringency from metal here, but the alcohol is deep too of course, as is the hop bitterness. Nice to sample, but not my favourite, but decent enough to fly home with across the country and try here! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in San Francisco (Haight Street), California on 08-March-2022 for US$5,99 with the tagline 'no jerks' on the bottom and canned on 09-February-2022 but sampled at my house here on the East Coast in Washington on 13-June-2022.
