Pint can pours with a slightly hazy deep copper to mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up loads of ripe crushed plums, brown sugar stewed cherries, varied winter spices and then a sense of the big ABV with a hit of heat to the tip of the nose. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet malt slicked plum and cherry and fig sweet fruity esters. This is bold and up front sweet fruity esters but they're nicely integrated and tethered to thin rivers of sweet molasses. To midway a mild winter spiciness builds to modest levels along with a growing boozy heat sensation. This creates a pleasing smooth mouth feel as the abundance of fruity esteriness are further contemplated. Solid sipper with restrained booziness for this massive ABV.

Pint can pours a with a deep copper to mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up date and plum like dark fruity esters wrapped thinly by a bit of molasses and kettle caramelization flowing into a mild booze sensation. The taste delivers smooth and slick and full palate sweet malty and sweet estery barleywine goodness. Slick malts give way to date to plum to lightly fig sweet dark fruity esters. To midway a pleasing blend of reduced sugars, like molasses and caramel, provide another layer of depth to this sipper. Into the finish this big beer's ABV is pretty well restrained. This is a solid English barleywine offering that's well crafted with integrated flavors and it doesn't try to do too much. I dig it.
