Description
The HopTop Brewery Ltd. was formed in the fall of 2015 to create various high quality craft beers for the increasing number of beer lovers. As it so happens, our brewery is located in the former Royal Brewery plant, so we can return a little bit of tradition to this area.

Bottled. Pours deep, hazy golden with everlasting white head. Apart from the usual witbier aroma it has some grassy overtone with additional herbs and slightly some hops also appear. The taste is just like the aroma with the witbier notes, hops and grass/herbs. Short bitter finish, lively carbonation, light body. Interesting conception with the beer being somewhere between witbier and wheat ale, but works for me.

Bottled. Pours black with beige head that disappears quickly. Coffe and roasted malts dominate in aroma and taste, with some slight hoppy bitter and bread/biscuits notes. The creamy mouthfeel is quite pleasant and combined with the soft carbonation and light body, make it easily drinkable. Speaking of the light body, it’s a bit too light, could be more full-bodied because this way it feels slightly watery. Not bad, but there’s room for improvement.

On tap. It has the usual fruity-flowery notes in taste but somehow not coherent enough. Moreover, it has a slight, barely noteable aroma. Painfully mediocre.

On tap. Hazy orange colour with white head. Vivid, overwhelming tropical fruits in aroma with the same notes in taste combined with prominent hops. It’s safe to say that, for me at least, it’s one of the best Hungarian IPAs currently. Good job.

Bottled. Pours deep amber colour with white head. Slight hops and resin, some earthy notes and malts with caramel. Fairly balanced between bitter and sweet notes, but somehow it doesnt work as a whole.

Bottled. Murky brown with no head at all. Extremely slight aroma, some biscuitsy malts, but that’s it. Its taste is likewise watery and very thin bodied. No finish, light body, some carbonation. Huge meh.

Bottle shared at home. Pours deep copper, thin beige head. Nose is pretty weird, moderately fruity and hoppy and there’s something in there that reminds me of butter (not dms!). Taste follows the aroma and closes withe moderately bitter finish. Although not thin, it’s surprisingly easy to drink and and has average carbo. Not bad, but quite strange.
