About
Behind Bendorf hides the name of a microbrewery. A microbrewery, or an urban craft beer factory, located in the Neudorf district, in the heart of Strasbourg! Founded at the beginning of 2013 by Benjamin Pastwa, the Bendorf brewery has continued to grow and this is how four people today ensure the proper functioning of the young company: Soizic, Félix, Matthieu and Benjamin . The goal of a brewery is of course to create, brew and then offer high quality beers with strong aromatic power for tasting. Our beers are generously hopped. At Bendorf, we love hops and we love working with it in all its forms.

Bottle shared. Hazy dull pink with pale pink head. Sweet raspberries berries, dough, tart berries too, light spices and booze, soft grassy. Nice raspberries. Medium sweet, under medium bitter and light sour. Over medium bodied. Slightly boozy, but the fruits make this better than the regular version. Good.

Brown with a thin, foamy to frothy head that fades away. Very little aroma—a touch of honey. Taste is mildly sweet, a mix of caramel, toast, and a mild cherry syrup undertone. Really, kind of empty though. Inoffensive but incomplete.

Bottle shared. Slight gusher. Light hazy golden with fizzy white head. Fresh oak, light alcohol, grains, bitter green leaves, tannins, soft vanilla, light spices, bready, light apricot and peach, white grapes. Medium sweet and bitter, light tart. Over medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. A bit too much alcohol and fresh oak for my tastes, I liked some other versions better. Still an interesting experience.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy golden with white head. Bready, light cloves, dough, soft toffee, pear, peach, light alcohol. Solid medium sweet and under medium bitter. Almost full bodied. Not too bad, but a little dull and too boozy.

Bottle at home. Deep brown with purple hue and dirty beige purple head. Well, this basically does what it says: a brown ale with cassis purée and chocolate. The fruit is fresh and tart, the chocolate dark but subtle and there’s soft hops and bready malts underneath it all. Solid medium sweet, under medium sour and bitter. Medium bodied. Quite nice.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy light amber with big fluffy light beige head. Light mineral notes, grassy, soft wheat, lactic kettle sour notes, soft red currants, bready. Medium sour, very light sweet and bitter. Under medium bodied with full carbonation. OK, but I don’t get much fruit and it’s a bit over carbonated.
