Tallboy from Beer Store in Ottawa. Pitch black pour. Tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with floral hops - nice but not overpowering. Taste has a bitter hoppy kick, good roasted woody malt flavor. No coffee or chocolate. Palate is slightly rich. Really nice straightforward black IPA. Tingling bitterness lasts.

Can from the LCBO. Clear dark copper pour with a small slowly fading tan head and patchy lacing. Nose is bready malts, dark fruit, toffee and nuts with a light grass. Lightly sweet brown sugar and a similar bitterness but less character than the nose. Mouth is slick and slightly thin with average carbonation and a crisp finish. 7-/3+/6-/3-/12

This bock poured a dark Amber colour with a little light tan head. Scents include caramel malts, ripe fruit and brown sugar. First swig was quite smooth with medium carbonation. Slightly sweet, with flavours of brown sugar, over-ripe fruit and a little smoke. Finish is sweet with a light hop flavour lingering. Mostly malts...

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell 10/9/2015. Many thanks to Wingman Dave for this one. Opaque black coloured pour with reddy hues and a lasting thin cream head. Aroma is nutty roast, lactose, milky, toasted coconut ,. Flavour is composed of piney wood, small roast, nutty grains, mineral, choc and light roasted barley. Palate is medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Tangy roast I the finish.
