Pint at the brewery - hazy brown pour - this one suffers from an overpowering oak presence and woody bitterness - some earthy Maris Otter character, a bit of soociness, some dark bread - overly oaky finish - meh, okay.

Tulip at the brewery - turbid purple, no head, looks nearly still - nose is bursting with juicy boysenberry, blackberry, raspberry, a little oak - flat and lifeless in the mouth - heavy bourbon booziness and alcohol in the flavor - thin body for the abv - a lot of pleasant, earthy fruit, but it’s so god damn boozy.

Pint at the brewery - they’ve finally done it - they’ve made a straight-up pils with no fucking adjuncts - oh, how I’ve been waiting for this day - I believe this is the base beer for their other pils variations - clean, medium spicy, lightly grassy, with a tettnang tanginess to it - light, clean pils malt sweetness - maybe a little bready - a touch of a mineral bite - good.

Tulip at the brewery - black pour - minimal lace - kind of heavy on the whiskey up front - a little thin in texture - thankfully, the whiskey mellows through the middle (at least the booziness of it) - dry and peaty through the middle - some earthy, mushroom malt character, smoke, raisin, espresso, roast - finish is dry, toasty, earthy, smoky - improves as it progresses.
