Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours hazy ruby red with a small pinkish white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is refreshing and fruity with black currants, hay, lemon juice, red currants, lemon zest, dry soil and hints of barnyard. Taste is sour and fruity with black and red currants, lemon juice, hay, crackers, barntard, lemon zest and brett. Mouthfeel is tart, dry and light bodied. Finish is slightly sour, dry, tart and fruity with lemon juice, black and red currants, hay and hints of brett. Nothing too complex but damn freshly fruity and nice. After trying 5 beers from Brekeriet I find myself looking forward to what’s next even though nothing has blown me away so far. But I just can’t deny how excited I am to see someone take the initiative to start Swedens first modern style farmhouse brewery. Keep up the good work. I will definitely try to find whatever you release.

Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours clear golden with no head worth mentioning. Smell is sweet with smoked salmon, soup stock, bay leaves, crackers, leather, dark bread and the not easy to forget smell of old dried urine. Taste is sweet with bread, burnt wood, hay, leather, lemon zest, smoked salmon, lots, smoke of barnyard and hints of manure. Taste is round, tiny watery and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and tiny bitter with bread, leather, wood, smoked meat and fish and hints of smoke. Rather strange and nasty and sadly very much something I didn’t enjoy.
