A Rauchbier meets a Schwarzbier. Pours a dark brown colour with some ruby highlights. The head is frothy, decent lasting, beige with some foamy patches. Big wood smokiness over roasted malts and some dark fruits, molasses. Refreshing mouthfeel with a little dryness in the finish. The taste has the smoked malts, but not as strong, blended with the base of roasted malts and hops. Light fruitiness that holds everything together. Goes down well and a nice mix of styles.

Can: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of wheat malt notes with some strong coriander notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a good mix of wheat malt notes with some strong coriander notes with light cloves and residuals sugar notes. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Very enjoyable for style and probably one of the best beer to come out of Archibald brewery.
