1 liter bottle brought to Jimmack Invitational’07. Bottle is now a year old. Pours a murky dark golden with a small head. Aroma is very original, very spiced ala raw meat rub. Spiky on the nose with lots of green herbs. Taste is a bit more died done, a very herbal, organic, green saison. Lots of flavors, light bodied and amply carbonated. Short organic-earthy aftertaste. Very original, would definitely drink again.

Draught, 5.2% at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà, Rome. Hazy golden colour, stable white head. Good malty flavour, quite clean. Nice naturtrüby flavour with a good, uncompromising bitterness, not rough. A very nice and fresh Helles.

I thought it was a saison, and this is what I imagine saison used to be when it was intended as a refreshing beverage. Some acid in the aroma. Barnyard and horseblanket aroma. Sour, yeasty flavor. No alcohol in the nose or flavor, which is what I expected. I finished off the contents of the swing top bottle 6 days after first opening. The beer is still sour, but also has more of an earthy quality. It is brown and opaque with lots of sediment. This is good.

Cloudy ruby red; small pink head. Cherries, sour cherries, tart nose, wheat-like background. Cedarwood (like pencils), cherries (real fruit). It is reassuringly tart in the taste/MF too, but all the same, there’s a strange presence that I would like to loose - yeast esters? lesser malts? Well-bodied, fruit filled. Generally nice, but there’s something... I might live with some longer lagering.

Draught Huge yellowish head; fully hazy brown beer, greenish nose. Cloves, wry banana, mossy, earthy notes. Sweet - very sweet for a Dunkel Weizen, and an ending with chocolate, but further pretty short of taste. Medium bodied; aftertaste is pure wryness. Finish and sweet beginning do not flow in each other, they clash. Not very likeable, strange Dunkelweizen, like a mole-coloured Hefe, wry.

Draught Huge, off-white head, dense whipped eggwhite-like over slightly darker golden beer. Hops (Eu) obvious, fully determining the nose. Superbly hoppy Pilsner, dry à souhait . Dry, dry MF, and yet refreshing, ending close to dry-out effect. WOW! Can’t the Belgian brew a Pils like this? The Italians can!
