On tap at Arrogant Sour Festival 2019. Hazy orange, white head. Funk, very citric, some wood, somewhat sweet with medium sourness. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Color: Hazy pale golden, white head. Aroma: Fruity, funk, leather. Taste: Fruity notes of stonefruit and grapeskin, citrus hints, a pinch of salt, notes of wild yeast barnyard funk and subtle notes of leather. Moderate to above moderate tart, lightly salty, sweet and bitter. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Another nice one from Ca'del Brado.

On tap at Arrogant Sour Festival 2019. Hazy golden, small white head. Funky, some barnyard, fruity, peach, bit citric. Medium sourness. Medium bodied.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, 20190711) The beer poured deep ruby red and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, clove and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, tartness, berries, vineousness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, tart and bitter. A surprisingly tasty brew with gimmicks.

Bottle. Color: Hazy yellow golden, thin white head. Aroma: Moderate tart, brett, citrus. Taste: Moderate to medium tart, lightly sweet malty and hopbitter, clear yet subtle funky notes of brett, horseblanket. Notes of stonefruit, lightly sweet and sour berries, grapes, hay, citrus fruit and wood. Moderate sweet and sour fruity finish. Medium body, below average carbonation. Smooth, bit creamy and dry mouthfeel. Nice one.

Tap @ Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto. Poured golden color with a thin white head. Sourness, funkyness, apricots. Lovely aroma. Flavor has funk, apricots, apples, elderflower. Dry finish. Lovely.

The Gose in this ‘Bolognese’ craft brewery’s sour series, thanks SterV for sharing. Snow white, open, mousy ring of a head, clear and warm, very pure ‘old gold’ robe. Unusual but admittedly alluring aroma of salty gherkins and Sauerkraut, but also green apple, pear, white bread, kefir, sourdough and a bizarre perfumey quality (sweet peppermint or basil). Sour onset but not harshly so, rather a soft lactic tartness throughout, piccalilly and cucumber sourness, green apple too, softish carb, slick wheaty body; saltiness is present at the edges, but remains rather subdued. That weird perfumey sweetishness, almost flowery and jasmin-like in the end, returns retronasally and creates a deceptively sweet finish aromatically speaking, but the sourness continues to dry the back. Very aromatic interpretation of a Gose, somewhat restrained in saltiness, which I think is a good thing in this often misinterpreted style – this degree of saltiness is probably closer to the original Goses than most postmodern ‘craft’ interpretations from the U.S., Scandinavia and so on are like.

Ca' del Brado's attempt at spontaneous fermentation enriched with white grapes and the counterpart of Baccarossa tasted next to it. Thanks Craftmember for sharing. Egg-white, loosely knit, bubbly and thin, open and unstable head on a hazy yellow-straw blonde beer with warm golden hue. Aroma of fermenting white grapes indeed (more white grape in this one than there was red grape in Baccarossa), green gooseberries, wet leather-like Brett effects, yoghurt, sourdough, vanilla-like wet oak wood, dry white wine, dry hay, cider. Tart, crisp onset, green gooseberry and unripe pear meeting sour white grapes, softish carb, lime-like acidity continuing to dry a supple, doughy and cereally malt body; sour fruitiness and lactic tartness penetrate a tannic finish with mild grape skin astringency, light Brett effects, woodiness and ongoing fruity juiciness. More 'wild' and funky, so in that sense perhaps more accomplished than Baccarossa, with more depth and maturity to it, yet - like Baccarossa - still remaining smooth, streamlined and a bit simplistic compared with its 'real' lambic counterparts from the Senne Valley (though comparison with e.g. Cantillon's Vigneronne is probably a bit unfair).
