Sour ale with Italian red grapes - craft beer the Italian way indeed. From a bottle at Bierkoning in Amsterdam during Carnivale Brettanomyces. Some off-white, disparate, small bubbles at first, but disappearing quickly into absolutely nothing; misty salmon pinkish-tinged vermillion red robe, looking paler than I was expecting from a grape beer. Aroma of dry rosé wine, red grape peel, sour yoghurt, redcurrant, rosehip, blood orange. Tart, fruity-acidic onset, more sharp redcurrant-like than soft and musty grape-like actually, rhubarb and sour yoghurt notes, soft carbonation, smooth cereally maltiness, rather straightforward and dried by fruity and lactic acidity yet feeling a tad thinnish; drying finish but remaining juicy still, thanks to the grape element, though again it feels more as if redcurrant or other sour red berries went in here than actual grapes. Light funky Brett accent too, but subtly so. Italy has produced many better grape beers than this, not very impressed to be honest, but nothing technically wrong here either.

At brettfest. Aroma of horseblanket, funk, tart, oak and vanilla. Taste of horseblanket, sweet citrus, funk and soft orange. Elegant.

From backlog. Draught @ Sour Spring Break. Vinous, dry and earthy with loads of grape juice, hints of leathery yeastiness and bretta. Okay.

On tap @Ma che Siete Venuti a Fa in Rome-Italy. Cloudy bright golden color with a medium and decently persistent white foam. Nose: citric, floral, cellar. Mouth is quite citric with a soft fruitiness.

In tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Oro torbida, schiuma bianca medio-leggera. Naso funky, stalla, merde de poule, frutta gialla. In bocca è decisamente meglio, bilanciata, con buona acidità e persistenza. Corpo medio, carbonazione medio-leggera. Da rifinire in alcuni dettagli, ma ha una base solida.

(Draught at Billie's Bier Kafétaria, Antwerpen, 18 Oct 2018) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, slightly sourish nose with citrus, bretty yeast, spices and white bread. Fruity, slightly tart taste with notes of lemon, tropical fruit, white bread, brett and a fresh acidity in a finish with a mild bitterness. Medium body, dry. Funky, fresh and tasty. Nice one.

0,15l from tap at Arrogant Sour Festival. dark yellow murky color small, white head. smells earthy, citric, grassy, wood, peppery. nice smell. full body, soft carboantion, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, grassy, rather wood forward, peppery, spices. finishes quite dry and medium sour with notes of pepper, grass and earthy notes. nice one overall, not the best balance though 7, 4, 7, 3, 14
