12-14-09----bottle---pours semi cloudy brown (coco-cola)--small beige head that diminishes quickly--burnt malts and stale vanilla sniffed--body is watery and I taste the burnt stale malt--**J smells a baby diaper, soaked in pee**--its not pleasant, yet i didn’t spill it--I guess the foulness slightly intrigues me---a lovely metallic finish--it did not put wind in my sail!!--was it better in its prime??--did it ever have one??

A dark reddish black porter with a thin moka reddish head. A murky woody aroma with light chocolate and resinous wood. In mouth, an interesting butter chocolate, musky, with light fruity notes. Not bad.. Medium bodied. Sampled on tap at Wellington Gastropub, Dec. 11 2008.

On tap at Volo, Toronto. Lager-like appearance, gold but not blonde/sparkling. Hoppy, golden malt aroma with fruit, citrus. Dry, hoppy flavor. Light malt. Clean and crisp, though the malt is simple. Good hops for sure. A touch of caramel and grapefruit. Dry, hoppy, bitter finish with lots of hops. Astringent but no hop aroma. A simple, clean beer with strong hops. Not so interesting. Possibly good with food. --- Beer merged from original tick of Summer Light on 01 Sep 2008 at 03:10 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5. This pale ale poured a light yellow colour with a nice big bright white head with a little lacing. To the nose there are scents of pineapple, yeast, apricots and a little earth thrown in. First taste was hoppy but a little watery. Strong floral hopps with a little bit of ripe fruit and corn ending with a yeasty finish. Palate is hoppy and bitter.

This ale poured a black colour with a nice dense, foamy, tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of roasted malt, caramel, ripe fruit and coffee. First taste was serious on the roasted side, slightly thin but the flavour makes up for it. Slightly smokey with flavours of caramel and coffee bean. Finish was burnt and slightly bitter. Very good, reminds me of the Stone Hammer Dark from F & M Brewery in Guelph, Ontario, Canada
