On tap at the Gertrude Hotel, pours a cloudy blonde with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out notes of red apples, gentle acidity and whiskey barrels. Flavour is fairly boozy, with the whiskey notes upfront, followed gentle acidity and crisp dry red apples. Nice stuff. Not overt harmonious but it's a very interesting, slow sipper. Enjoyable.

Had this strong one at the cidery. Had just a drop of this but it was dry, quite acidic with a really bright apple character and a hint of earthiness.

330ml bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney. Hazy pale yellow gold colour, white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of apple, funk. Taste is tart apple, oak, vanilla, rubber, barnyard, acidic with drying tannins. Spritzy mouthfeel, light bodied, high carbonation, dry tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

Tap. Hazy yellow, no head. Light bodied. Juicy apples, no cooked flavours. A meadow meets orchard aroma and taste with some funk and little obvious alcohol. There’s a breath of whisky at the end and it’s a bit woody there too. A little piercing sweetness, some tartness, quite dry at the end. Great.

Bottle. Hazy straw-coloured, no head. Light, fruity aroma with some flowers, mellow apple. A little juicy sweetness, some lemon and skins, a little woody and astringent at the dry end. Good.
