Description
Preparations for Leidsch Bier started in 2003. Before that, owner / brewer JW Fukkink had been active as an amateur beer brewer since 2000. The official start was a fact with the introduction of Leidsch Blond in April 2004. With the move to own business premises (mid 2010) and obtaining the brew / excise permit (May 2011), there was finally a real beer brewery in Leiden again.

At a tasting, thanks MrHangover, small bubbley head, hazy deep orange colour, light hoppy aroma of melon and kiwi with some herbs, flavour of orange marmalade and tobbaco, medium strong bitterness. Nice, just a bit too old.

Bottled 33cl Tnx Edo. Dark opaque brown color, huge cloudy brownish head. Ashy, vegetably, roasted malty aroma. Medium-bodied. Tobacco, roasted malts, some vegetably notes, alcohol, hints of licorice. Drinkable, but has some new brewery problems in the flavor profile I think.

Draft at Beer Temple. Pours hazy amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma of vegetables, garbage, yeast, chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, lasting vegetal finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Really disappointed with this one, had high hopes after the awesome raisin morsporter.
