Description
Fresh, Fun, Approachable, Hop-Forward

Hey there! We're Offshoot Beer Co. from your friends at The Bruery. Offshoot is the Bruers' playground, where we dive deep into the world of hop-forward beers. While we could definitely geek out on the intricacies of making these beers, we'd rather just open a cold one and...Relax.

What is Offshoot?

Years ago our founder Patrick Rue made a promise to NEVER brew an IPA. As time went on, our adventurous Bruers KNEW they could make world class hop-forward beers, so Offshoot was born as an offshoot of The Bruery, all while keeping Patrick's promise that The Bruery would NEVER make an IPA.

Where The Bruers Relax

Offshoot is what The Bruers drink when they're off the clock. Nothing better to help you Relax, Escape, Retreat, or Coast.

440ml can from Battle of Bull, Cheras, Malaysia. Poured a hazy dark golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, zesty tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, juicy orange tangerine citrus, light floral, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can. Has sort of a dullish look to it, but a thick head. Hop notes are fruity, some overripe stuff, cantaloupe and allium. On the palate, more allium, light melon. The base is only okay, in terms of mild malt character and a fair bit of yeastiness.

Can, 0.473l. Aroma is grainy, herbal and citrusy. Pours cloudy golden color with thin frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts refreshing citrusy, grainy and tropical fruity, following is herbal and bready, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Best hoppils ever…

From a 473ml can on 10/2021. Pours a hazy medium golden with a medium head. The nose is punchy with lots of citrus. Tastes of orange, mandarin, tangerine, a touch of apricot and some honey. Finishing moderately bitter with a touch of grapefruit. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Tasty and comes together really nicely.

Poured from 473mL can (pkgd 12/10/2020 - 5 months old). Cloudy, almost murky orange-ish yellow with white head. Mild bread malt, citrus and tropical hops. Lost a little bit of it from age, but kept most of the flavour. Very good.

Poured from the 473mL can (pkgd 12/04/2020 - 5 months old). Cloudy yellow with white head. Mild bready malt, tropical and citrus hops, hops show their age slightly, but still hold up decently. Quite good.

Poured from 473mL can (pkgd 12/09/2020 - 5 months old). Murky light brownish yellow with white head. Fairly malty, the hop profile has unfortunately lost a lot of its flavour, mild tropical hops.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 11/16/20 - approx 6 months old). Slightly hazy golden orange with off white head. Sticky biscuit malt with a touch of caramel malt and hint of bread malt, fairly mild resinous hops. If it were fresher, would probably have a very nice hop profile and be a good example of a WC IPA.
