TDM 1874 All Together 6.5% Matte gold with decent foam and a fantastic aroma featuring prickly pear and apricots. Fairly full bodied and sweet with juicy hop tropical goodness they matches the nose. Very poundable. Even better than KBC’s, yum.

TDM 1874 One Hop Pale Huell Melon 5.5% Clear bright gold with decent foam and a melon/cantaloupe aroma with a woodsy sweetness. Nice medium body and dry mouthfeel. I like the sweet melon and woodsy/earthy spice mild bitterness. For me this has a better integrated flavor profile that’s easier to drink and more satisfying.

TDM 1874 One Hop Pale Ale Pekko APA 5.5% First up is the Pekko that I heard mixed things about. Not in the sense of being badly done but just people didn’t know what to make of the hop. Deep gold with a thick head of foam with decent studying power. The aroma is honeyed malts, the beer has a medium body and somewhat chewy malty mouthfeel I enjoy. Pekko is giving a bitter woodsy herbal mint with hints of pine but also a sweet red grape in the aftertaste. A very solid APA but I’m not sure how I’d use Pekko to best effect, maybe some kind of blueberry beer? In combination with other hops? It does grow on you as you get used to it but I don’t find it has an element that shines through.

TDM Rye Rye My Darling Red IPA (?) 7.5% Lovely reddish amber color with a tan head and a malty sweet but peppery rye aroma that’s redolent with piney hops. Quite full bodied and smooth. The hops are 80-90% pine then 10-20% hints of citrus with the malts providing a balancing sweet caramel but I’m also getting a Smokey vibe (could be the mosquito coils I guess). Very tasty and hitting the spot on this rainy Thursday.

Very pale light amber color. Some parts are almost translucent. Interesting nose of orange, apples and brandy. The brewer described it as having Cava notes and I would agree. Medium bitterness, medium body, I cant shake the thought of cava now and that is what I get a lot of. Very odd in this sense, but I do actually enjoy this a fair amount. Low medium carbonation. Fairly dry and quick finish. One of the better one hopped beers from TDM.

Very deep fiery autumn amber color. Creamy white head. Intense spicy rye character in the nose. The rye is really really spicy, one of the spiciest rye noses Ive smelt on a beer and I love it. Tangerines and grapefruit in the background. Medium bodied, excellent malt backbone and tons of spicy rye character over a modestly bitter palate. Fairly dry. The rye character just lingers and lingers at the end. Its powerful, but never overwhelming. Love it. Hard to find a rye IPA in Japan and this is an excellent example.

Can from the brewery. Juicy melon nose, orange, light resins, malt in the background. Clear golden orange with a medium head. Nice fruity notes, honeydew melon, nectarine, orange, pine, with crisp, crackery malt. Nice showcase for the hop, which I enjoy a bit more than the Pekko, but very similar beers, both quite nice.

Can from the brewery. Nice hoppy nose lemon, orange, light melon and tropical fruit, light berries and bubble gum. Good, gentle, aromatic nose. Malt stay in the background. Clear medium orange-golden color with a low head. Flavor has more berries, some piny resins, and ripe, slightly stinky tropical fruit. Light, crisp, crackery malt. Finish is sweet tropical fruits, resin, and a medium bitterness. Good.
