Cask handpull at Westgate, JDW, Canterbury. Gold, thin white head. Now, that has loads of Canterbury cascades and I’m drinking this in Canterbury. Sherbert aroma. It’s alright. Hops are good but not overstated, but presence is felt throughout. I like the soft subtle sherbert cascades. Love the lemon sherbert dib dab aroma. OK got to the end of the half pint and still just sherbert drinkable, but so much sherbert.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 30/10/10. Near black with a slight, tan head. Aroma of prunes, milk chocolate and liquorice. Sweet flavour, with plenty of fruit, chocolate and milky coffee, before a thin, slightly sour finish. Very disappointing and blown out of the water by the TSA Double Espresso sampled immediately afterwards.

Cask handpull at Society Rooms, JDW, Maidstone. Dark brown colour thick lasting beige head. Some caramel and toffee. Not much if any nuts. It’s a toffeeish best bitter. Not huge hop finish. Fine.

Spoons Fest! Clear brown beer. Tiny white head. Light soft palate - airy and low carbonation. Slighty creamy and slightly nutty malt. Trace of orange hop. Fairly well joined up. Pleasant enough autumn ale.

Spoons Fest! Very dark brown beer. No head but has some moderate carbonation. Crispish dry palate. Sulphurous hop. Tangy tea, minerals. A litlle dry malt and a pleasant enough malt aftertaste. However this version is frankly a barstard offpring off the original and should have been strangled at birth!

cask at standing order ... golden yellow .. thin white lacing ... soft fruit hop nose ... sweet lemon peel... lots of sherbert ... little orange... juicy. define sherbert fountain cask at standig order .... golden yellow ... light lemon hop little dry nose ... big sherbert lemon soft fruity hop... 3.7 snap with out looking at last rate

Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley. Chestnut brown, with a thin cream head; caramel aroma; thin with an earthy taste and a vegetable bitterness; before a dry finish. Overall this is clean and refreshing with a hint of chestnuts.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Amber with a ring of white head; fresh floral aroma; flavour of grassy hops and honey; then a long gentle Cascade bitterness to finish. This is pleasant enough, but I was expecting far more.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Black, lasting dark beige head. It’s fine, some interesting almost meaty stout flavours. It’s okm but just a little lacking somewhere. Lacks intensity. OK. But disappointing. Not 5% ABV feel either, watery in mouth. Some choc on finish.
