[Gravity cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Pours black with purple hints and a moderate creamy head. Intense blackberry aroma which continues strongly into the flavour, intensifying to suggest raisins. Some plum sourness in the background is balanced with lots of rich chocolate and roasted malt, which make for a very smooth drink indeed. Smokey hints come through in the finish. This is really very very good indeed, and even though it’s only the first day of the ’Spoons fest, I doubt I’ll find anything to match this. In fact, I might skip the rest of the festival beers and just stick with this one... c9

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Black, very dark brown. Lasting thick cream head. Certainly a pretty looking beer. Really quite a tasty toasted roast malt beer. Yes not perfect and maybe not showy but I like this over soemthing like Guinness. Has elements of a dry Irish stout. Yes some dark dark fruit in there some milk choc and this dry powder charcoal edge. Some creamy ness in mouth. Yes pretty good.

Beautiful amber color, still. Quite simple, but pleasant Bitter, with a lightly sweet caramel and a very light fruitness; balanced bitterness, growing at the end.

Hazy light amber color; thin creamy head. The aroma is light, malty and fruity. It has a good body, with malt flavor, caramel, some sweetness, cereals. Quite strong bitterness, the final shows more a dry caramel side than some fruitness, that would make it great. Very good.

Cask at Wetherspoons, Victoria 16 Nov 08. Golden brown colored. A tiny fluffy head. Hard-to-find aroma. Evolving flavor of malt & fruit. Some dry bitter aftertaste. OK – but a bit disappointing.

Hazy light amber color. Nice hop aroma, midway between Europe and America. It has some caramel flavor, quite sweet, with a nice sweet fruitness from the hop, and not the typical aggressivity or hop resins; red apples come to mind. Very pleasant.

cask at JDW edinburgh ...WELL FIRST OFF LETS JUST SAY I LIKED THIS WAY MORE THAN THE AVERAGE ... amber ... light malt light hazelnut nose ... mellow fruity malts ... some toffee... ligth chocolate ... and hazelnut ... TK2 as i defintly wanted a 2nd the next day ... very nutty very tasty ... could see the nuttyness getting too much over several pints.
