On tap at Kick. A creamy light beige head forms over a dark brown to black body. Some roasted malts in the aroma, citrus, oranges, peaches and a hint of unripe bananas. Banana in a nice way though. Creamy on the palate, with a really pleasant bitterness. Nice carbonation, full body. Citrus peel and pine cones. Lasting finish with a good bitterness. Not much impact from the roasted malts, just like I want it. A black IPA like it should be. 140329

15.03.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, wet hops, dark malts, leafs, burnt caramel, grass, coffee, hints of butterscotch. Taste is harsh grassy, hops, leafs, dark malts, alcohol, burnt caramel, coffee, cardboard, hints of licorice. Longlasting bitterness, harsh dry mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea, please give me a Giardia-infected glass of water from Svartediket instead....

300ml draught at Beer Palace. Decent rings of lace down the glass. Near naked surface to a deep mahogany coloured body, red-tinged. A bit subdued smell of herbal hops and slightly roasted dark malts. Ashy, dark malts to the taste character, hints of liquorice and chocolate culminating in a long-lived, malt-bitter ending. Very smooth mouth feel. A fine bodied and well crafted brew (Oslo 11.03.2014).

On tap @ Bøker & Børst. Dark brown body, almost black with a rather small tan head. Nice, strong aroma of dark malt, citric fruit, tropical fruit and pine. Flavor is medium sweet dark malt, light roast, citric fruit, pine and high bitterness. Medium body and long, bitter aftertaste. Easy to drink, very refreshing, definitely on the bitter side, not exactly in balance but a nice one indeed for all the hop-heads.

On tap at Håndverkerstuene. Very datk mahogany with a beige head. Quite fruity and hoppy aroma with notes of roasted malt, licorice and hints of pine, caramel and herbs. Medium sweet with a nice balance between the dark and the hoppy flavours. Medium bitterness. Moderate bitter aftertaste with notes of citrus. Very nice BIPA!
