In 2015, Hubbard’s Cave was developed as an alternative to our Belgian Style Ales. Producing American Style ales, primarily imperial stouts and Hubbard’s Cave signature Fresh IIPAs, Hubbard’s Cave is a refreshing addition to the Une Anneé Family. Named after the Chicago Hubbard Street traffic tunnel on Interstate 90/94, next to where the brewery was born, Hubbard’s Cave has quickly grown to produce some of our most popular offerings.

a: maple syrup | icing sugar | rich roasted grains
f: super sweet | brewed coffee | lactose finish
t: creamy | full-of-sugar | pungent throughout
o: a bit cloying | ultra-maple-forward | some umami/soy sauce notes, but tempered a bit

Salted Caramel Imperial Stout (All Canned Dates) from Hubbard's Cave

Pint can, 2019 vintage. Caramel aroma with notes of roasted malt, salt, lactose sugar and chocolate. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention and a thin ring of lacing. Starts with rich caramel, roasted malt and salt flavors as well as having a rich, full body and silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with chocolate and lactose sugar flavors. Still quite good after approximately 7 years in the cellar.

Dark brown. Lots of cinnamon and maple on this, some vanilla. It’s sugary, maybe only medium bodied for the style. It’s good but it’s definitely looking for a barrel to call home.

Starts with rich roasted malt, cinnamon, lactose sugar and chocolate flavors as well as having a medium body and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with vanilla, coffee and maple syrup flavors. Still pretty good after 7-ish years.

Starts with rich, roasted malt, caramel and chocolate flavors as well as having a rich, full body and silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with hazelnut, vanilla and lactose sugar flavors. Very good, but almost too sweet the more you drink it.
