12 oz. bottle at Claim Jumper, Lombard, IL. Last time I had this was when Pete was still in charge. Didn’t think much of it then, either. Smell of Strawberry Fanta. Pour dark gold with a tinge of pink. Taste is overloaded with strawberry, vs. a weak lager background. No real hops or malts to speak of, just a lite beer texture with strawberry jam on top. Barely okay as a girlfriend beer, but I can see why strawberry is not a first choice for fruit beer. Gassy finish.

Bottle: Clear yellow, lots of white head and lacing. Smells malty and grainy, tastes about the same. Not a bad thickness for a cream ale, but lacked any real taste and any character.

Sweet malty nose with a citrus note; amber brown with a small beige head. malty flavor with a sour citrus note and a little hop bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Typical golden ale aroma. But suprisingly good taste, at least for a Matt Brewing company beer, the company that could do so much better if they only tried a little harder.

Flavor is a bit dry, with tones of citrus, wheat, and hops. Aroma is a pleasant combo of citrus and hops. Yes, is smelled like it should taste better than it does. Finish is smooth and crisp, easily drinkable summer beer.
