Description
It all started with a humble homebrew kit and the drive to make better beer. Tired of the same bland and dated choices everywhere, Air Force friends Eric Wallace and Dick Doore set out to make the kind of beer that excited them; beer they wanted to drink. A hobby quickly became an obsession and it wasn't long before Left Hand Brewing opened for business on January 22, 1994. Left Hand has steadily increased its production, making the Brewers Association’s Top 50 Craft Brewers list in 2012.

0.355 l can from 'Craftbeershop.com', canned in February 2025. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently roasty of peanut butter, milk chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla and some coffee. Rather sweet, malty, gently roasty-bitter taste of peanut butter, milk chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and some vanilla, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent stuff, very sweet though.

Old rating from 01-07-15 - 330ml bottle brought back from the States by my wife. Poured at home in Jersey, it's jet black with a off white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of coffee, liquorice, caramel, smoke, hints of spice & malt. Medium body. Moderate bitter finish. Excellent

Can from my Beerbox subscription. Aroma is jam packed with lemon. Taste is lightly tart from the lemon and a little sweet, finishing dry.

Canned. Dark brown to black pour. Honestly pretty good, some roasted malts and hints of berries. Not bad at all despite not being mega imperial whatever.

Draught from the Habitat. Dark pour, not much head. Thinnish consistency. HEavy on the licorice. Eh.
