Description
It all started with a humble homebrew kit and the drive to make better beer. Tired of the same bland and dated choices everywhere, Air Force friends Eric Wallace and Dick Doore set out to make the kind of beer that excited them; beer they wanted to drink. A hobby quickly became an obsession and it wasn't long before Left Hand Brewing opened for business on January 22, 1994. Left Hand has steadily increased its production, making the Brewers Association’s Top 50 Craft Brewers list in 2012.

Can. Attractive enough pour. Not so into this one. Peppermint just doesn't work that well in beer. Needs a bigger chocolate tone or something. Sweet, but bland and boring at the same time. Nitro doesn't make it better, just easier to put away.

Darkest brown. Aroma is cocoa chocolate light mushroom. Taste is full mushroom soy sauce burnt cocoa. Misses some sweet chocolate notes or some general smoothness. Alright but not super.

Black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is chocolate malt, light chipotle, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, and toffee. Sweet and dusty, with a mellow, earthy bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and bit hot, and clean. Quality, fun, and interesting.

Netter Start, schwaches Finish. 9/9/8/7//8

Can from the Beer Republic Green Advent calendar Day19, packaged Aug.26, hooray - one of the youngest so far. Hazy orange, big lasting head, nose of spicy orange and malt sweetness. Smooth and crisp on the palate, juicy with a hint of pine, not too sweet, lupulin powder. Mouthfeel is mid bodied for a hazy with moderate bitterness. Pretty nice.
