Description
It all started with a humble homebrew kit and the drive to make better beer. Tired of the same bland and dated choices everywhere, Air Force friends Eric Wallace and Dick Doore set out to make the kind of beer that excited them; beer they wanted to drink. A hobby quickly became an obsession and it wasn't long before Left Hand Brewing opened for business on January 22, 1994. Left Hand has steadily increased its production, making the Brewers Association’s Top 50 Craft Brewers list in 2012.

Draft at Ginger man. Dark w/moderate head. Very little aroma in my glass. Taste was gingery coffeee. Not that successful IMO.

Draught. Pours a darky brown with a mild head. Pretty average Oktoberfest for my money.

355 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Stavanger Verksgt. ABV is 10.2%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts, burnt breadcrumbs and mild coffee, a hint of liquorice. The flavour has the same elements, also some fruity notes of prunes, hints of dark chocolate and smoke, decent bittering hops in the finish.

16 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a cloudy gold color with a thick white head and excellent retention. No nitro action. Great lacing. Artificial lemon household cleaner aroma. Lemon Pledge? Similar strong, very artificial lemon flavor. Slightly tart. No beer flavor here. Not refreshing. Super smooth texture from the nitro. Light body. Not bitter. Very disappointing.

Draft at Trail's End. Pours black, with a fair, foamy, tan head. The nose is dark chocolate, beautiful toasted coconut, pine, and mellow earth. Sweet and malty, with a mellow, musty bitterness. Medium to heavy body, smooth, and sticky. Nice and candy-like.

16 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a very small, tight white head and excellent retention. Great lacing too. Not much nitro action. Tropical fruit aroma, as expected. The fruit flavor is not as strong as the aroma. More mango flavor than guava. A very mellow blonde base beer with light fruit notes. Super smooth and creamy nitro mouthfeel. I would have preferred a little more carbonation. Light body. Not bitter. Nice summer sipper.

Beer drunk for Easter Saturday after a traditional Christian dinner of gyoza and sake. Beautiful dark color and nitro head. Lightly malty and rather hoppy nose. Great smooth flavor, big hop bitterness almost perfectly balanced with brown sugar sweetness, citrusy with super smooth roasted notes. I love an imperial that's not overly sweet and has sufficient hops... This is SO GOOD!

Bottle, 2021 vintage. Roasted malt aroma with notes of chile pepper, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and oak. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has no retention and very little lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as having a rich, full body and silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with chile pepper, bourbon and oak flavors as well as the chile heat linger long after each sip. The chile heat is close to being overpowering, but still quite good.
