Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Reddish brown pour with a light beige head. Aromas of red wine, strawberry jam, apple strudle, plum pudding, light funk (HEYYY!). Flavours are very similar with a nice backbone of dried fruit. Rich warming finish.

Shared 375 ml corked & caged bottles at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, tan head. Aroma and flavour of roast malts, chocolate, roasted nuts and dark dried fruits, just a pinch of sea salt. Sweet, but very good.

Tap, LKBW. black, thin beige head, nonlasting. Strong peanutbutter nose, slight chocolate and vanilla. medium bitterness, a bit of blackcurrant, some peanutbutter again. Slightly sweet. Medium body. Nice dessert. No alcohol felt.

Can. Pours clear reddish chestnut, medium creamy beige head, good lacing. Aroma is dark sugars, toffee, earth, roast, fig, oak, tobacco. Flavor is merlin sweet, light plus bitter. Medium plus body, creamy. Gonna miss dopplebocks when it gets warm.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Translucent cola brown color. Frothy tan head settles to a small cap. Slightly sweet roasted malt aroma. Flavor follows nose. Added notes of Baker’s chocolate, brown bread, toffee and toasted walnuts. Finishes with a touch of spicy hops. Smooth and enjoyable.
