First had this in Riga many years ago. Found a bottle in Wakefield recently. Slightly skunky but it is in a green bottle in the UK so not protected from harmful light. Slightly sweet in character and typically Eastern European in lager style.

Can (pint) @Petalax Clear golden color, small white head. Kind of cleanser or petrol aroma. Light bodied. Flavor is also very much like gasoline. Unclean corn malty flavor. Horrible.

It’s always difficult to rate beers out of clear bottles given they’ve always had some sort of reaction to sunlight exposure. This one was a little skunky but at the same time it was also clear it’s not a fantastic lager to begin with. Light golden with next to no head. Fair aroma but a thin texture.

568ml can from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy amber with initially a large white head, but this dies to a small one quickly. Aromas are grains, cereal, caramel and a bit dusty. More malt sweetness on the taste, and the merest hint of hops coming through to cleanse the palate. Lively carbonation, nearly but not quite cloying. Not bad.

Medium deep offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation. Strawy earthy aroma with wet cardboard notes. Dry-sweet, and faintly acidic, strawy earthy lemony taste with wet cardboard notes. Mid-bodied. Soft, mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish fruity earthy aftertaste with papery notes. It’s quite nice, but should have had it earlier. BBD 2013-06-27. (0.5l bottle, from Stockmann, Riga.)
