Handpull cask at the Fox & Crown, Newark. Dark brown, almost opaque, with a tight khaki head. Pine resin, burnt malt, Robusta coffee beans and wildflower aroma. Bitter and almost fruity taste, leading to a harsher bitterness to the finish. Black grape and more resinous notes in the aftertaste. There is a thinness to the body but I'm concentrating on the intense flavour so much that I hardly notice. Exceptional.

On cask at Old Coffee House, Soho. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma: floral hops, lemon, apricots & orange, herbal, hay. Taste: light sweet, citrus, stone fruits - peach & apricot caramel, hint of vanilla. Light body, light carb, dry light bitter finish

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 1st February 2018. Almost impenetrably black with pale tan ring-and-film giving spot lacing. Rich and intense roasty aroma tickled by a citrus note. Coffee, bitter chocolate and just a hint of smoke in-mouth, and a sophisticated finish. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Exquisite.

Keg at the Old Coffee House - Soho. Pours unclear yellow-gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose holds bready pale malts, ripening citrus, pine. Medium sweet flavour with more ample bready pale malt character yer, low bitterness, some booze, orange, melon. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly warming in the finish, with more booze, bready malts, hay, pale grains, ripe orange, lemon rind. So so.

Keg at the Old Coffee House - Soho. Pours black-brown with a dense, lasting creamy mocha head. The nose holds lightly tangy berries, vague roast. Light sweet flavour with more berry tang, some burnt grass, a little citrus peel. Light bodied with that thin nitro carbonation. Finishes with more tangy berries and dark malts, mild earthy and grassy bitterness, some ashy notes. Seems like it could be a little old. Not the best.

Light sweet flavour with good bittersweet cocoa character, rich ashy dryness, some scorched earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Drying and ashy on the finish, with more sturdy baking cocoa, burnt earth, grass. Solid.

Cask at Old Coffee House. It pours black with a sturdy light tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, oily dark chocolate, chewy, chocolate powder and touch of dark fruit. The taste is dry, bitter, a bit tart and tangy upfront...blackcurrant, blackberry, fruit compote, jammy, earthy, roasted malt, touch of charred stuff, bit of astringency, peppery spice and umami. Finish at dry and charred. Medium body and fine carbonation. Tastes a bit bolloxed. Tangy tart vibes... Ain't what I was expecting in the stout.

Taste comprises orange pith, soft breads, apricot jam, toasted malts, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough APA.

Keg at the Old Coffee House, 20/12/17. Pitch black with a well presented khaki head holding excellent retention skills. Nose is treacle toffee, charr, spice, light pine needle, dried berry fruits. Taste comprises light cocoa powder, red berry twinge, light spice, mellow roast, cocoa powder, ashen tones. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. OK CDA ... lacks a bit at the business end but classic nitro look and touch on display.
