Dark Amber with a redish tinge. Small but fine head with good lasting lacing. Some nice caramel and toffee aroma characteristics. Some nice toffee and caramel malt flavours but nothing too exciting. No real hop flavour to start with, although it goes towards a bitter finish

Bottle. Nice barley malt aroma (smelled a little skunky in the bottle but that seemed to all but disappear after pouring into a glass). Orangish-amber color with nice head. Sour barley malt flavor with mild but long lingering hops finish. Moderate carbonation especially for the style. Not an ale for those who like draughts but overall a nice tasty beer.

Bottled. Reddish-brown with a small off-white head. Sweet and spicy aroma. Flavor is mostly like the aroma, with some warming alcohol and a bit too fizzy mouthfeel. Some roasted bitterness towards the finish. It doesn’t fit into the Norwegian Christmas beer tradition, but suits well as a winter warmer. (051225)

Deep orange amber ale with a creamy white head. Crispy herbal malt aroma with caramel notes. Caramel malts with nutty notes, with a lighter body. A decent ale.

Dark clear brownb ale with a thick light oka head. Light sweet chocolate aroma with vanilla notes. Watery stout with diluted chocolate and some light bittering hops. Rather boring. LCBO.

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy orange beer with an OK head. The aroma is sweet and slightly flowery. The flavor is also sweet with very light notes of flowers, leading to a slightly bitter end. Nothing wrong, just a bit boring.

Bottle. Clove, cinnamon and dried fruit aroma. Dark amber color with insignificant head. Complex light flavor - orange peel, clove ginger with a light hops finish. A very nice Christmas ale that doesn’t smack you in the face with the spices.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pale amber, vaguely hazy from the yeasty sediment. A very lively head, but unfortunately it collapses rather fast. Lovely floral, hoppy aroma. Weakly caramelish and sweetish. The aroma hops don’t leave much bitterness. A nice - and organic - experience. 290703

(Bottle 50 cl) Pale ales are common in Belgium but I believe rather rare elsewhere. Pilsener golden with a small head. Comes with the vinous character of the other Usher vintage beers, but completely lacks the juicy fullness from the darker malts. A bit like a dry sherry. Almost no bitterness. Very unusual if not to say unique. 260603
