[Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading.] Deep chocolate brown with a thin tan head, bright tawny highlights when held to the light; damson and cherry aromas; silky smooth but rather thin with an interesting mixture of flavours - lactic, sweet fruit, butterscotch - but also dry and floury; the finish is gentle and warming with a hint of cinnamon. More a mild than stout, but very pleasant.
