Two keg pints @ 02 Academy, Birmingham whilst watching Lorde. Clear gold, foamy white head. Aroma has a light lagery sweetness. Taste is as expected, light pale lager with a subtle sweetness that could be malt, more likely something else. Bit of more of a metallic hint to the second pint.

Keg @ Lord Nelson, Southwark, London. Carbonated golden cider. Tangy in its apple and strong tasting. Is slightly dry.

Clear deep golden color with almost no head. Looks terrible. Almost no aroma. Luckily enough. Medium (-) body and soft carbonation level. Moderate sweet and a mild bitterness. Mild malt water. Ehhh did I pay for this…..

Tap. Clear yellow-golden color with white head. Aroma is grainy, a bit sweet, quite flavourless. Taste is sweetish grains and some hints of cardboard. Medium carbonation. Not bad, just flavourless.

Can from a little off-licence in Blackwater, Hampshire, who appears to specialise in tramp juice. Fruit yeast lager aroma, with a hint of booze. Bright gold. Initially, at least, the white head is big and foamy. Slow bubbles. Sweet. Saccharine, syrup. There is some boozey bitterness into the finish. Medium bodied. A tad sticky. Soft carbonation. Astringent but abrupt finish. When I took a look at the case I wondered who’d want to drink the advertised ’half litre’. Turns out it’s me. Not a good beer but goes down easily, tramp alcopop.
