A World Cup Of Beers#29. SPAIN. An international brew with the football - at least with heritage from the Iberian peninsula for this clear pale golden coloured beer. It's a very hot day so it feels quite refreshing and palate-friendly despite it clearly being bland in taste. It perhaps doesn't quite feel the five percent on the bottle and is maltiest in aroma. I've kind of forced this one on myself given the Spanish are currently playing. Drank whilst watching the quarter-final Spain vs Belgium.

A World Cup Of Beers#18. DENMARK. An international brew with the football and turning to Scandinavian heritage for this clear golden coloured and well carbonated bottled beer, what if I'm being nice to it is at best humdrum. Sadly for me it's a 660ml large version as this is about as dire as it gets without being off or affected. The pilsner character here is light, with very little taste. It looks nice enough and the bubbles are attractive, constantly flying upwards as I contemplate another sip that I don't really want to take. Drank whilst watching the penultimate group to finish their games - this one between Columbia vs Portugal.

50cL can gekocht bij lokale winkel in Kuala Lumpur. Volgens opschrift gebrouwen in Maleisië. Smaak is bitterzoet met een vrij lichte en zwakke smaak. Desondanks een redelijk bier vergeleken met hetgeen hier wordt aangeboden. De licht bitterzoete smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Basic international lager, slightly skunky even though it’s canned, floral notes and minerality and pale malt and blah. Eh.

Bulgarian version. A golden lager with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, crisp biscuit malt with grassy German hops, light adjunct, OK. In mouth, a nice crisp malt with light corn husk, light mineral notes, light hops, decent. Bottle at Sofia Airport.
