Still a little light in the body, but has enough malt and hops for me to crown in the king of Mexican pale lagers.

I used to think this was a rather bitter, complex beer. Hell, I gave it an 8 out of 10. Then I turned old enough to drink and realized how wrong I was.

The 2014 Nochebuena is a solid macro bock, with sweet caramel notes, a touch of dark toffee malts, and a mellow but balanced bitterness. Better viewed as a dunkel, but clean and with a nice dark malt character.

Upgrading this one (not by much): a nicely clean pale lager (not a true pilsner IMO), doesn't advertise (in flavor/palate) use of adjuncts but I'd expect there to be some in there. Clean palate and hops are apparent in the finish, but IBUs still low.

Spring Break 1997 on the rooftop of whatever hotel we stayed in. This is probably not the correct hotel but after over 26 years ago it’s close enough.
