Description
Our beers are made of passion and knowledge, culture and innovation, memories and visions of endless worlds real and futuristic.

Giovanni Campari founded Birrificio del Ducato together with two other partners. Giovanni is still the brewmaster of the brewery, which officially began the production of craft beer on March 27th 2007 in Roncole Verdi, Busseto (PR). The historic production site was transformed into Sour Brewery in 2015, when we transferred the main brewery to the new headquarters in Soragna (PR). Here we produce the main beer lines, through a fully automated system, which includes advanced PLC controls and centrifugal separator. The brewery currently has a 60-hl 5-vessel brewhouse and a total cellar capacity of 1200 hl.

At the end of 2016 Duvel Moortgat acquired 35% of the shares of the brewery. In 2018 Duvel Moortgat acquired 70% of the brewery’s shares, investing its resources in a new laboratory and in a new bottling line.

Tap @ OTH. Pours golden blonde. Aroma is fruity (apricot) with some floral hops and yeast. Taste of very light caramel malts, lightly hoppy (floral) yeasty (earthly), possible herbal (pine) note. Beer is very smooth, light and filled with savours that will keep you wondering. There is a definte plus about this beer that was well worth the money.

On tap at the OTH (Oldsmar Tap House). Pours deep gold with a slight haze and white head. The aroma is full with sweet apricot, orange peel and strawberry along with spice notes all over the place. I also get a bit of barnyard earthiness, a floral bouquet and a mild note of candi sugar. The taste begins smooth and complex starting with a tart lemon note carrying around some acidity. Running along side the tartness are notes of mild earthiness, spices heading over to a mild pepper note and varied fruitiness as noted in the nose. Refreshing and satisfying brew.

Draught at The Beer Table, Brooklyn. Hazy orange/yellow with a white head. Herbal hops, malty, some citrus and light grains fill out the aroma. Earthy, hops, and light citrus make for a tasty pilsner. Dry and carbonated body. Crisp and very refreshing on a warm NYC afternoon.

Bottle? at GBBF 2008 Very interesting aroma in which I detected some washing up liquid, and this wasn’t as a result of a glass clean, furthermore I didn’t find this off putting. Tasted lovely in the mouth, soft but ever present hops, some fruitiness coursing through lazy but lingering bitterness, its pretty good.
