Description
Our beers are made of passion and knowledge, culture and innovation, memories and visions of endless worlds real and futuristic.
Giovanni Campari founded Birrificio del Ducato together with two other partners. Giovanni is still the brewmaster of the brewery, which officially began the production of craft beer on March 27th 2007 in Roncole Verdi, Busseto (PR). The historic production site was transformed into Sour Brewery in 2015, when we transferred the main brewery to the new headquarters in Soragna (PR). Here we produce the main beer lines, through a fully automated system, which includes advanced PLC controls and centrifugal separator. The brewery currently has a 60-hl 5-vessel brewhouse and a total cellar capacity of 1200 hl.
At the end of 2016 Duvel Moortgat acquired 35% of the shares of the brewery. In 2018 Duvel Moortgat acquired 70% of the brewery’s shares, investing its resources in a new laboratory and in a new bottling line.

Hand pump at Salone della Birra Artigianale e di Qualità 2008, Milan
Black color, with big head. Delicate aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. The carbonation is absent, it has some roasted malt flavor, caramel, chocolate; the bitterness comes only from the roasted malt. Smooth but not exciting.

The correct name is VIÆMILIA
Hazy blond color. It has some herbal hop and crispy malt aroma. Quite good body for a Pilsner, with good flavor and very strong hopping. Solid Pilsner.

Hazy light amber color. It has a good malty aroma, a bit fruity, with a shade of Belgian character. Good body strength, full malty, round, dynamic flavor. Well structured. Excellent.

2019-06-23, fresh bottle, bb 01-08-2021, lot L157/18-1, 8.2% ABV, 7-4-8-3-15=37
Lean Imperial Stout, elegant, with a well defined smoke touch, and a trace of peppers. Possibly, it can be defined as thin; by modern parameters, this style of Imperial Stouts is no longer on top of the list, but it's nevertheless pleasant and well brewed.
2012-04-12, bottle from Birratrovo, Como, 7-5-8-4-15=39
Black color with majestic head, brownish and creamy. Aroma of roasted malt and some cardboard, unexciting; but also some coffee later, and that's better. The flavor is very good, with dark chocolate and some roasted malt, not too ashy as other black beers, and not thick at all; good bitterness level.
Good chocolatey Foreign Stout.

2009-07-07, bottle, 1 year old, 7-5-6-3-13=34
Beautiful amber color, hazy; big head. Very nice hop aroma, fruity initially (delicate apricot and mango), later English hops. It’s very dry, with some caramel flavor but too much bitterness.
2008-03-29, hand pump at Salone della Birra Artigianale e di Qualità 2008, Milan, 7-4-7-5-15=38
Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Delicate but nice hop aroma, there are resins, fruits and grass. It has a round mouthfeel, but the body is not so strong, it has anyway a strong toffee flavor and an extreme hopping, of good quality. Some more sweetness and it would be perfect. The final is very long and excellent.
